HAMMAT TIBERIAS NATIONAL PARK. (Hammat="Hot Springs" in Hebrew)

Identified as the biblical Canaanite city of Hammat (Joshua 19:32-35). Renowned for its 17 ancient (1st Cent. AD) hot springs (with water flowing at 60C ) Hammat Tiberias reached its peak during Roman and Byzantine eras. Today, part of a National Park in Israel, the prime attarction of Hammat Tiberias is a 4th Century AD  Synagogue with its amazing 'zodiac mosaic floor'.
