A two-day trip organized by the 'Sede Boker Student Council' was an ideal opportunity for me to see the 'Big Crater' or Makhtesh Gadol and also to hike some nearby areas which otherwise are not reachable via public transport. Although the highlight of the trip was the more touristic Eilat city, which has not much to offer in terms of biblical or archaeological dimensions; it was fun to be in a group with many known faces.
