Remains of the ancient synagogue of Masada. Believed to be constructed in 1st Cent. AD and apparently was first used as a stable. It is one of the oldest synagogues unearthed in Israel.

Several rare archaeological findings were unearthed from the synagogue including:
1) Ancient scroll fragments containing the famous Ezekiel's vision of the valley of the dry bones (Ezekiel 37). 2) An inscription on the floor that read "the priest's tithe". 3) The "Casemate of the Scrolls" (several papyrus fragments from 1st Cent. AD). 4) A salary record belonging to a Roman soldier who was part of the 10th Legion that attacked Masada. 5) Rolling stones and hundreds of ballista balls used in the siege of Masada.
