Desert Rhubarb (Rheum palaestinum). This rare plant grows only in Israel and Jordan. In a region like Negev with an annual rainfall of just 75 mm, a typical desert Rhubarb harvests 4.2 litres of water annually, wheras the largest known was found to harvest 43.8 litres.
