Remains of the 6th Cent. Byzantine Church and the Magnificient Herodian Temple ( 1st Cent. BC) of Caesarea (almost nothing remains from the Herod's Temple) that stood before the Church. Byzantine Caesarea was even larger than the Roman city, covering some 160 hectares.


Herod's temple enclosed two colossal statues: one of Augustus and one of Roma.
