Bible Land Preserve, Jerusalem Zoo: Palestine Gazelle. In Hebrew 'the Land of Israel' is also refereed to as 'the Land of Gazelles'.

"My lover is like a gazelle (roe in KJV) or a young stag. Look! There he stands behind our wall, gazing through the windows, peering through the lattice" (Song of Songs 2:9: NIV). The Gazelle is a delicately built and light-footed animal that it can run up to 85 kilometers per hour. "And the three sons of Zeruiah were there, Joab, Abishai, and Asahel. Now Asahel was as swift of foot as a wild gazelle" (II Samuel 2:18).
