Beautiful views of Highway 90 and Kibbutz Ginnosar from Arbel Cliffs. The kibbutz was established in 1937 and the name Ginnosar is derived from biblical Gennesaret (Joshua 11:2, 19:35, Mathew 14:34, Mark 6:53 and Luke 5:1). Even Kinneret, the Hebrew name today for the 'Sea of Galilee' is derived from Gennesaret.

Today, Ginnosar is more famous for the first century boat discovered on its shore in 1986. The boat known as 'Jesus Boat' or 'Sea of Galilee Boat' is carbon dated to 100 BC to 70 AD! Ginnosar is also the hometown of famous Israeli politician Yigal Allon (1918 to 1980).
