A decorated conch from the Chorazin Synagogue (4th Cent. AD). Believed to be part of a window in the upper part of the synagogue or a structure that flanked the 'Ark of the Law'. Considering the hard texture of the black basalt rocks, it is very difficult to carve or engrave. You can imagine the skills of the craftsmen to do such intricate works.
