An 1800-year- old Roman column used as lamp-post for a bar in Jerusalem! Located inside the Old City near Jaffa Gate, the column honours the legate of 'Septimius Severus Caesar' and was erected on 200 AD.
Hi Aaron, Thanks for popping by my blog. The Roman column is located in the 'Greek Catholic Patriarchate Road'. If I remember correctly, it is the first side street to the Christian Quarter, immediately after the Jaffa Gate. The best way is to locate, 'New Imperial Hotel' or 'Versavee Bistro, Bar & Cafe', both easily identifiable from Jaffa Gate, and the column can be spotted in the middle of their courtyard.
That is an awesome find! I know it must be somewhere in the Christian quarter, but where is it?!

Very cool. I'll be in the Old City on Wednesday and I'm gonna go check it out.
