MISHKENOT SHA'ANANIM GUESTHOUSE, JERUSALEM. Mishkenot Sha'ananim is the first Jewish neighbourhood built (1860) outside the walls of Old City of Jerusalem by Moses Montefiore. The word 'Mishkenot Sha'ananim' means 'Peaceful Habitation' and is derived from a verse in the Bible (Isaiah 32:18).
