The Snake Path of Masada (2 km). Look down for the serpentine path descending the hill. Josephus (1st Cent. AD) mentions about this ancient path as one of the four access points to Masada. "Snake Path" from the east , "the White Rock" from the west, and two approaches from north and south, all of them rather difficult to climb.

Wikipedia shares an interesting information about this ancient path:  The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), Moshe Dayan, initiated the practice of holding the swearing-in ceremony of soldiers who have completed their Tironut (IDF basic training) on top of Masada. The ceremony ends with the declaration: "Masada shall not fall again." The soldiers climb the Snake Path at night and are sworn in with torches lighting the background.
