Bet HaMa'ayan Excavations -the City of David, Jerusalem. The current entrance to the 'Hezekiah Tunnel' runs through these excavations.

Has remains of a rock-cut pool and bases of two massive towers that protected the Gihon Spring from the time of Canaanites (18th-15th cent BC). Some see this system as the biblical 'water channel' through which King David's men entered and conquered the Jebusite city of Jerusalem (2 Samuel 5:6-9). More details later...
