Crusader (12th Cent AD) Church of St: Anne, Zippori.

Zippori has the tradition of being the hometown of St. Anne and St. Joachim, the parents of Virgin Mary. The Pilgrim of Piacenza visiting Zippori in 570 AD was shown a seat used by Virgin Mary at the time of annunciation from the Archangel Gabriel, thus began the tradition that she was born in Zippori. The Crusader Church is built over the traditional site of the house of Anne and Joachim. The Crusader structure has remains containing Greek and Aramaic inscriptions, granite columns, ossuary and door of a tomb. However, the church is not visible in the photographs as we cannot access it from the park. Just outside the church, a view into the valley is supposed to show the tomb of Rabbi Judah Nessiah (Grandson of famous Rabbi Judah Hanassi of 2nd Cent AD). For some it is a Roman Mausoleum from the same period (2-3rd Cent AD). Unfortunately, I could not trace the tomb from the lookout.
