MOUNT SCOPUS or HAR HA-TZOFIM (Mountain of the Watchers), JERUSALEM. The site of the Hebrew University and the Hadassa Medical Center.

Arising 2710 ft/826 m above sea level, Mount Scopus is one of the most strategic location in Jerusalem. Some of the deadliest attacks Jerusalem had witnessed on its soil came through this small hill. The Romans in AD 70, the Crusaders in 1099, the British in 1917 and the Israelis in 1948 and 1967; all conquered Jerusalem via Mt. Scopus. Today, Mount Scopus houses the prestigious Hebrew University and the Hadassah Medical Center of Jerusalem. If the sky is clear, a simple glance from the Mount Scopus observation point will make you realize why the hill is so crucial for Jerusalem's defense. Behind the Mount, near the Botanical Garden there is also a view through Judean Desert towards Dead Sea. Probably, Mount Scopus is one of the few viewpoints in Jerusalem where you can see both the Holy City and the Dead Sea (when the sky is clear) at the same time. Unfortunately, we planned our trip to Mount Scopus, on a day with not that much pleasant weather, and you can feel the outcome from the photographs.
