The Famous Round Altar of the Cannanite Temple (~2500 BC) of Megiddo. Many sacrificial animal bones & pot sherds were discovered here. The 7 ancient steps to the altar is still visible (See 3P).

The altar is 8 M in diameter and 1.4 M in height.

An excellent example of the cultic altars frequently mentioned in the Bible. (eg., I Samuel 9:12-15)

 

A complex of three identical Canaanite temples was added later at the back of this altar.
