Palace of Agrippa II (27-100 AD)

Extended over more than 2000 square meters, this first Cent AD structure was one of the largest and magnificient buildings built in Israel. Later, a bathhouse (Byzantine, 4-6th Cent AD) and a synagogue (11th Cent AD) were added to the structure. It was before Herod Agrippa II and his sister Berenice that, according to the New Testament, St: Paul the Apostle defended himself at Caesarea Maritima (Modern Caesarea and not Caesarea Philippi), in 59 AD (Acts of the Apostles 26).
