Silvanus Street, Bet Shean

A Roman street flanked on one side by monumental colonnade and a marble-clad pool on other side. Byzantines made a new street and erected a new hall above the pool. The earthquake of 749 AD destroyed the columns. The street is named after one Silvanus by archaeologists after they discovered an inscription about a lawyer by the same name who was involved in the halls construction.
