Ancient Bet Shean (Tel Bet Shean) dates from 5000 BC. Some 20 settlements were recovered from here so far starting from Cananite, Egyptian, Israeli, Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Medieval periods. For the approximate dates see the photographs below. Most probably this could be where Biblical Bet Shean stood.
