Moshav Eshtaol and Tel Eshtaol

Eshtaol appears seven times in the Bible closely associated with Zorah; two times in the Book of Joshua (15:33; 19:41) and five times in the Book of Judges (13:25; 16:31; 18:2, 8, 11). The area between Zorah and Eshtaol is more famously linked with the biblical character Samson-the judge. It was also from Eshtaol and Zorah, the five spies were sent to find a land suitable for the tribe of Dan (Judges 18). Modern Jewish settlement of Moshav Eshtaol was established near the Biblical site in 1948.
