VISITING EIN AVDAT & ZIN VALLEY AFTER ONE OF THE STORMIEST DAYS IN ISRAEL (18th JANUARY, 2010).

"Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negev" (Psalms 126:4, NIV).
Yesterday, while I was uploading the photographs taken on 8th December, 2009, about the small flash flood in Ein Avdat, rain was pouring down heavily from the heavens. It was the wettest day I had experienced so far in Israel. I stay in the Negev region of Israel which hardly receives 70-100 mm rainfall annually. But, today the weatherman reported 69 mm from the region, almost a year's rainfall in one day!! People from the campus and nearby areas flocked especially to Ein Avdat to see the massive amount of flood water flowing into the Ein Ma'arif spring from a cliff at least 200 ft tall. Thanks to Noa for making us witness this rare event. Since I am uploading a series of photographs from Sede Boker and Ein Avdat, I thought it would be wise to append the ones taken today also.
