Ritual Baths (Mikveh in Hebrew) of Essenes (A Jewish Ascetic Group) from Roman Period (1st Cent BC-1st Cent AD)-Qumran National Park.

There are several rules to be followed when a religious Jewish bathhouse was made in early times; like the ritual baths had to be built in rock and not above it, so that there would be direct contact with the ground. Their should be always running water in the pool and it should not be stagnant. The amount of water must be at least 1 cubic meter, 1.2M high, and the walls must be plastered.

1P: See water channel that conveyed water from the aqueduct to the ritual baths.

See 1P & 3P: Find two sets of stairs: one for the way down to be purified, while the other for the purified to walk after bath.

4P: See the walls are covered by layers of thick plaster.
