Ein Gedi National Park-Hiking Wadi Arugot.

Spread in an area of 6250 acres, it is one of the most important nature reserves in Israel. Ein Gedi National Park has four fresh water springs viz. Nachal David (David Stream), Nachal Arugot (Arugot Stream), Shulamit and Ein Gedi springs. Together, the springs generate approximately three million cubic meters of water annually. Much of the water is used for agriculture or is bottled for consumption. This was my second visit to the national park. During my earlier visit I had an elaborate 14 km hike through the reserve covering most of the important attractions. This time it was a short hike (3 hr) through the Wadi Arugot to the hidden waterfall. For more, see the pictures uploaded.
