Tel Aviv Port

The Tel Aviv sea port was built in the years 1936-1938, when Arab riots of 1936, paralyzed Arab-controlled Jaffa port, the main and only gateway to Israel. In 1948, the first ship carrying Jewish immigrants to Israel has landed in the Tel Aviv port under the Israeli flag. With the opening of the Ashdod sea port in 1965 (Israel's biggest port today), the Tel Aviv port was shut down as an active sea port. Today, the old port of Tel Aviv is no longer a port, but it is a great place for hanging out in the day or night. The port is a flourishing center for shopping, night life and of course an ideal hub for food and music lovers .
