Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv.

Neve Tzedek in Hebrew means "Abode of Justice". In Bible, the word Neve Tzedek is mentioned in Jeremiah 50:7. It is the first Jewish neighbourhood to be built outside the walls of the ancient port of Jaffa. Although established in 1887, 22 years before Tel Aviv (1909), the expansion of modern Tel Aviv left Neve Tzedek neglected and crumbling. However, after the 1980s, the place returned to its former stature. Today, Neve Tzedek is Tel Aviv's most fashionable and expensive districts and hometown to many artists and writers, including the Nobel laureate Shmuel Yosef Agnon.
