THE HAYARKON AND TEL APHEK (ANTIPATRIS) NATIONAL PARK.

Spread over 3250 acres, the HaYarkon and Tel Aphek (Antipatris) National Park, is one of the most beautiful parks to visit during winter times in Israel . The park is focused around two major sites (1) the ancient biblical 'Tel Aphek or Antipatris' with its 16th Century Turkish Fortress overlooking the Yarkon springs (2) the 'Yarkon Sources' (the origin of Yarkon River), with its rich flora and fauna. The area of Tel Aphek itself extends over 30 acres. If you are not so particular about archaeology, enjoy spending your time at the beautiful artificial lake and the well maintained gardens and picnic areas of the park. From Tel Aphek, a small gate at the end of the lake, leads to a dirt road that takes you to the other site, Yarkon Sources (~1 Km). Due to lack of time we could not explore much in the site of 'Yarkon Sources'.
