HIKING NAHAL (VALLEY) PERES TO DEAD SEA (8 km walk), 14th NOVEMBER, 2009.

After almost six months, the Midrasha Hiking is back and here we are to explore the natural Israel. The region we hiked this time is a valley in the Judean Desert, Nahal Peres through which Peres River (dont even dare to imagine a river. It is just a stream which is dry most of the year) flows some 17 km before merging into the Dead Sea. The total hike was 8 km long and involved a little bit of mountaneering also. The best part of the trip??? I would choose the narrow water holes of Peres with 8m tall natural borders on each sides. The last stop after climbing two steep hills was at the 'Nahal Peres Observation Point' which offered us some spectacular views into the Dead Sea and Sodom regions.
