This extinguished volcano in the Golan Heights is 1204 meters above sea level. At the top of the mount you can see the largest unit of Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) called Unit 8200. Also known as IDF Intelligence Corps Unit or the Central Collection Unit of the Intelligence, Unit 8200 is responsible for collecting signal intelligence and code decryption. Together with adjacent Mount Bental, Mount Avital and surroundings are part of a Nature Reserve.
