Jericho-the Oldest City of the World from Highway 90

Jericho is the lowest permanently inhabited and the oldest continuously inhabited city of the world (9000 BC). Jericho is mentioned more than 70 times in Old Testament and several times in New Testament. Who have not heard about Joshua's famous battle for Jericho, the Fall of Jericho's Walls and how he cursed the city (Joshua 6).

In New Testament, Jericho is associated with Bartimaeus the blind (Mark 10:46-52), Zacchaeus the Tax Collector (Luke 19:1-10) and the famous Parable of Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). Today, Jericho is a city in Palestine (West Bank) and not easily accessible from Israel. I guess Israelis are not allowed in Jericho and vice versa, but tourists can visit the ancient city. The Biblical "City of Palm Trees" (Judges 3:12, Deuteronomy 34:2, 2 Chronicles 28:3) is still a rich area for date palms and you can see plenty of them on the way.
